This facilitator course will provide an in depth look at bacterial infection outbreaks and how we respond to each.  

Course objectives:  

  • Have increased knowledge in the area of bacterial infection ​ 
  • Have increased confidence to deliver harm reduction information to people who use drugs ​ 
  • Be able to recognise symptoms of infection and respond effectively​ 
  • Have an idea of effective responses to potential outbreaks which can be implemented in your area 

 
Skilled Level: The skilled level specifies the practice-specific knowledge and skills expected of practitioners who have direct or substantial contact and responsibility for people affected by substance use, and who are responsible for direct care or treatment of people affected by substance use. The ‘skilled’ level would typically apply to those in roles where there is responsibility for planning and delivery of support, care, or treatment.
