If you are outwith this area please check our Training Calendar to view available courses.  \n\n\n\n\n\nThis facilitator led course will explore the key issues relating to benzodiazepines including street and unlicensed use in Scotland. Identifying the effects and impacts and effective strategies and techniques for working with people who use benzodiazepines.  \n\n\n\nCourse objectives:   \n\n\n\n\nRecall the current and emerging trends with benzodiazepines including street and unlicensed benzodiazepines ​ \n\n\n\n\n\n​Identify the physical\, psychological and social effects of benzodiazepines​ \n\n\n\n\n\n​Understand the effective strategies and techniques for working with people who use benzodiazepines including harm reduction ​ \n\n\n\n\nInformed Level: The informed level specifies the baseline practice-specific knowledge and skills every worker in the drugs and alcohol sector should be developing upon entering employment.  \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPlease do not book training on another person’s behalf\, each learner should set up their own account on the SDF Learning Centre to book their own training. This allows the learner to track their own learning progress and receive certificates on completion of training for their CPD records.

DESCRIPTION:THIS SESSION IS ONLY FOR THOSE LIVING AND WORKING IN ANGUS.  IF YOU ARE OUTWITH THIS AREA PLEASE SEE OUR TRAINING CALENDAR TO VIEW AVAILABLE COURSES. \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\nThis facilitator course is to support practitioners to listen and respond effectively and appropriately to children affected by parental substance use.  \n\n\n\nCourse objectives:   \n\n\n\n\nIdentify the impact of parental substance use on children  \n\n\n\n\n\nDescribe the child’s change cycle in parental use and recovery  \n\n\n\n\n\nPractise the assessment of risk for children affected by parental substance use  \n\n\n\n\n\nIdentify ways to actively engage and hear young people’s stories \n\n\n\n\nSkilled Level: The skilled level specifies the practice-specific knowledge and skills expected of practitioners who have direct or substantial contact and responsibility for people affected by substance use\, and who are responsible for direct care or treatment of people affected by substance use. The ‘skilled’ level would typically apply to those in roles where there is responsibility for planning and delivery of support\, care\, or treatment.  \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPlease do not book training on another person’s behalf\, each learner should set up their own account on the SDF Learning Centre to book their own training.
